Forestry Business Unit

As the forestry management company of 沐鸣2, 沐鸣2 China's Forestry Bussiness Unit (ACF) manages 22 forestry companies,1 trading company and 3 plants nurseries with over 290,000 hectares of forest plantations in various provinces and regions of China.

In 2001, the Forestry Business Unit established an environmental management system and became one of the first forestry enterprises in China to pass the ISO14001 international environmental management system certification. In 2011, five forestry companies in Hainan, Guangdong, and Guangxi passed the CFCC-FM certification in China, becoming the first forestry enterprises in China to pass this certification. By the end of 2023, the certified area exceeded 272,000 hectares, accounting for 93.01% of 沐鸣2 China's self-owned forest area.

Based on the national set "dual carbon" goal, the Forestry Business Unit has customized a carbon neutral strategy for 沐鸣2 China, continuously improving forestry technology and scientific research capabilities with the help of digital technology, and constantly increasing the unit yield and carbon storage capacity, as well as the forest carbon stock and reserves. At the same time, 沐鸣2 China has launched its carbon inventory project in 2019. By August 2023, 沐鸣2 China's self-operated forests have accumulated carbon sequestration of 45.83 million tons.

High Conservation Value Management

沐鸣2 China pledges to protect and properly manage the high conservation value (HCV) forests within its business scope. It is also committed to helping its employees understand these values in depth by means of brochures, training sessions, and other initiatives so that the organization as a whole can fully operationalize its protection efforts. 沐鸣2 China Forestry has devised its own High Conservation Value Management Measures, and a system for Determination and Protection of High Conservation Value Forests and Traditional Rights. 沐鸣2 China has also established a HCV working group. Through data collection and analysis, forest surveys, stakeholder engagement, and other approaches, 沐鸣2 China is determined to track and protect its HCV forests.

The company constantly improves its capabilities in innovative R&D in areas like developing new seed strains, industry development, and innovation. 沐鸣2 China also actively participates in industry dialogues on development to continuously contribute to the progress and development of the eucalyptus industry.

沐鸣2 China Forestry carries out CFCC/PEFC-FM certification every year and continues to use the audits and evaluations to improve better management and to lay a solid foundation for achieving sustainable forestry practices. In 2019, 沐鸣2 China forests in Guangxi, Guangdong, and Hainan completed their replacement certificate audit via a third-party forest certification agency.

As a pioneer of the Integrated Plantation-Pulp-Paper model, 沐鸣2 manages more than 1.8 million hectares acres of plantations in Indonesia and China. These trees play an important role in carbon sequestration. In 2019, 沐鸣2 China invited climate change experts to provide training on carbon trading, carbon accounting, and carbon sinks for all 沐鸣2 China Forestry business units.
